Koni Marcoux has always been an admirer of the great masters of Impressionism. The intensity of their colours is reflected in her own works resulting in vibrant depictions of landscapes, flora, and fauna. Her love of art started from quite an early age, with her fascination with colours and forms. Drawing and colouring copied and imagined images kept her occupied then. Nothing much has changed these days, except her art has evolved from a child’s scribbled drawing to a studied painting, shaped by a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and different influences. She uses various mediums to create but her artistic expression is better articulated with acrylic.
The early part of her art career was spent working as a designer/illustrator, a job she enjoyed, but all the while keeping the dream of becoming a painter alive. That dream has now become a reality. Like the favourite flowers she paints, Koni now is in full bloom as a full-time artist in a small, picturesque town in Québec, where she gets most of her inspirations. She is also a member of several other art groups in Ontario, Québec, and the United States.
